Square Round Table Productions (Hanover, PA) - Independent production company, Square Round Table Productions (SRT), is now in the middle of production for the feature length comedy, "Thunder & Hurricane" filmed locally in York and Adams County.
The film is written and directed by Steven R. Hoover, resident of Hanover; and produced jointly by Mr. Hoover and Danny Tanner (York, PA). The two, who have worked together creatively for more than ten years, have produced a variety of videos and short films.
This film follows the comedic adventures of two simple-minded cousins, played by Mr. Hoover and Mr. Tanner, hoping to escape their less than average existence by moonlighting as "superheroes". Other key members of the cast include Molly Bailey Royer (Lancaster), Kraig G. Decker (Hanover), and Andrew Deichler (East Berlin). Ms. Royer has appeared in films such as "Marci X" (Paramount Pictures) and "The World Will Set You Free" (Kenya Branch Productions), as well as NBC's TV Series "Ed" (Worldwide Pants). Mr. Decker is a Professional Certified Fitness Trainer and featured trainer and co-host of "Life Wellness Coach", a TV Pilot due to air on FOX in the near future. Mr. Deichler, who plays one of the town bullies in the film, appeared in "Girl Interrupted" (Columbia/Tristar Studios). Several other actors involved have a long list of acting experience on the local stage.
The film has received an overwhelming amount of support from the community. Film locations include several Hanover/York businesses such as Crabb's Tropical Treat, Patty and John's Restaurant, and Club 2000 Health and Fitness Center. Original music by the Iron Ridge Band will be featured in the film. More than 100 individuals from the York/Hanover community will be seen in the film. "We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received from the community," said Mr. Hoover, "Several business owners have generously allowed us to use their locations, donated props, and provided film equipment. The film wouldn't be possible without their support." Mr. Tanner added, "Not only have we received enormous support from local businesses, but we are blessed with an outstanding technical crew and talented cast. Their contributions to the film will only enhance the final product. The whole experience has been amazing.v
Filming is now over fifty percent completed and the expected release date is November 2004. A premiere is planned for the Hanover area. The company plans to first market the film locally and will also submit it to several film festivals.
